Hello,
I need some advice. I been a long time Eastmans subscriber and truly enjoy there magazine and all of your great hunts showcased in it! Unfortunately, I live in the Midwest and don’t get out west very often to hunt myself but, I love to reading about your hunts!
My brother and I want to take our father who now is 80 years old, on his last DIY bow elk hunt in 2016. He can still hike ok and shoot his bow with proficiency out to 40yrds. I hope I can still do that at his age.
Over the years we hunted WY area 49 for elk but, the land has now been lease to an outfitter and it out of our budget. My bother and I are looking for a place to take my father (as he keep asking us) with relatively easy terrain for him, and that will get him into eyesight of a good number of elk during the Sept rut.
If he get a shoots any elk that a bonus it not about the kill or the size of the bull it’s about our last hunt together but, I would like see my dad’s blood get pumping from the sound of a Sept bugles one more time.
Each of us have (3 WY elk preference points) where should I start looking?
We be open to paying a trespass fee but once again, we are working guys so there are limits...
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer us & I can’t wait to read about your next adventure in Eastmans!
Good Hunting to all of you!
Dave
PS: We started looking over the MRS as well to help narrow down some options.
