WY deer Areas 84,120& 37 in the Special draw.

I have two deer points and at 63yr old, there is no way I'm going to draw a real good limited deer tag. I decided to look at these areas and with 2 points in the special draw I could draw them. Are they worth the extra money I'd like to get your feeling on these. I'd be happy with a 150-170 point deer.
Also looking at 118 and 161 in the regular draw. I hope I'm not asking too many questions but I hate to burn even 2 points on a bad hunt area.

1. Are any of these areas better than another?
2. Can a deer like I want still be killed in these areas?
3. Should I wait and apply in a year or two and hope to draw a better unit?

Any info from some one who has hunted these recently would be greatly appreciated.

I been having trouble figuring out what to do with 3 points too and Im probably gonna sit on them for another couple years. I havent seen many LE units that interest me that can be drawn with the points I have. I think the best bet rightnow with 2 or 3 points is one or the general regions like G, H, or R.

I would look at G special if you want to hunt this year. 69.8% odds of drawing last year with two points in the special draw.

I've not hunted these units, but I do know the problem with 120 & 37 is the access is crap. 84 is somewhat intriguing to me as well, with my recent move to Cheyenne I've been looking into areas in this quadrant of the state a little harder.

If you want to have a chance at hunting a good area this year on your two points in the the Special draw, then put in for Region G as mentioned above. You'll have as good or better chance at shooting a good buck there with 2 PPs as many of the LE units that take a handful or more of PPs to hunt because most are overrated.

I would pick 37 out of those you mention and go hunting. 161 has virtually no access unless you draw a limited slip on the hma there. At that, the numbers of deer in that area is quite low. 84 is mostly private.

Thanks guys for all the advice. Looks like two points in the special is not a sure draw for G this year. I will have to rethink my deer area hunt strategy or just buy another point.
