I am interested in these tri pods also. Does anyone have any experience with these. Any reviews on how you like them also? Hope I am not hijacking your thread ohbckhntr. I am not looking to purchase one right now just want some info from those that have them.

No worries brother, as for a review- my uncle has one of these and we used it on our elk hunt in Utah last year. I liked it so much that now I want one. They are expensive but they work great they collapse quite well and are lightweight and durable.

Ohbckhntr,
What are you looking to spend. I might be able to get you a new one for a decent price. I am not a vendor or retailer. I just know people that know people.... send me a PM and we can discuss.

Brushstomper,
I use nothing but Outdoorsmans tripods and joystick heads. For glassing and shooting off of you can't beat it. They are light weight and durable. Between the wife and I, we have 2 med tripods with center extentions and 1 small tripod with center extention. My setup has their dual mount so I can put on my bino's and spotting scope. The joystick head doesn't like that setup to much, but I make it work. If you are going to do any type of digi-scoping with a spotting scope then I would recommend their panning head. You can go the the Optics forum as there is more information there on the Outdoorsmans and other tripods.

Not loud at all. I wrapped the outer legs with camo tape (the kind you use for bandage...non-stick or something like that). If you strap them on the botton of your pack and also have a bow or gun and they knock on each other then yes it makes noise, but that happens with anything you strap like that. My pack has a pocket for tripods or spotting scopes so that is what I use. The joy stick head rotates to a 90deg position and is out of the way. Even when I strap on my bow or rifle.
