If you listen to any of the CPW Wildlife Commission meetings, you will find out that there are quite a few of the Commissioners that know nothing about wildlife, hunting, fishing or wildlife management. They are political appointees and bring nothing to the table but ignorance and politics. No wonder the professionals in the CPW ranks are frustrated. The wolf situation here in Colorado has been political from the get go. It is surely going to get worse before it gets any better.

Rant over...................!

Regardless of what the plan is for Wolf reintroduction after they have been reintroduced any attempt to manage their population will be met with court challenges and activist judges. If wildlife managers were allowed to do their jobs a lot more people would support these efforts.

Its seriously hard to listen to those meetings. I do my best to listen to them in the background but man its tough.

Blind people are making decisions on which way to go. One direction is off the cliff and the other is into the flames.

Most of them are SEVERLY underqualified to be making decisions.

Hopefully the CPW doesn't figure out how to bring back dinosaurs....

One thing that gets me is that the introduction area includes units where the elk herd is already on a large downtrend.

I took a drive the other day and in areas that you should see 100+ elk wintering there are less than 50. And we are going to put wolves into this area.

Question:

I may have missed this snippet of info somewhere along the way but where do they plan to get these wolves from for the re-introduction?

I haven't heard exact from where but in the plan I read that it will be from northern states that already have a population of them. So I'm guessing Montana, Idaho, and perhaps Wyoming. There was no mention of getting any from Canada.

I just did a search and here is a article on them.
