Wondering if anyone uses a winged eyecup on their binos and if so, why or why not and what brand. They intrigue me as a nice way to keep the light out while glassing but I don't see many guys using them. Do they contribute more to eye fatigue or are they maybe just a fad or gimmick? I'm thinking about trying some out on my 10x42 Vipers. Interested to see some thoughts. Thanks!

I have a set of winged accessories from field optic research on my leica binos. They fold down when not in use and are covered by a lifetime warranty (though the warranty is something of a joke since you have to pay shipping and handling per eyecup which is close to the price of a new pair of them). I don't care much for the design of the eyecups on leica binos as they seem to let in a lot of light from the peripherals. These take care of that problem perfectly. I think if you don't care for the eyecups on your binos then they are worth it.

Replacing the standard eye-cups on my Swarovski SLC's with the winged eyecups is the best $20 (or however much they are) I've ever spent.

My older pair of steiners had them and I loved them. I tried a universal pair on my Leica Geovids but they weren't as comfy.
