Wife's first archery goat

My wife shot her first archery goat last night. pretty proud of her. I have a blind setup at a dried up water hole 1/2 mile from my house. The goats still like to hang out there because there is a windbreak about 70 yards long of about 15 foot cottonwood trees. The buck chased a doe right behind the trees, my wife got out of the blind snuck through the trees and shot the buck at 30 yards. Got some more snauge and back straps for the freezer. 2 elk and 2 mule deer to go to fill our tags.

Any idea how the antelope rut is going? I leave friday and will be hunting about 130 miles southeast of you. Going to try and get it done spot and stalk with a bow and the Mel Dutton decoy but taking a ground blind to set up in case I need a day off.

We went to the mountain for mule deer on Wednesday. When we left the bucks where mostly still in small groups. When we got back on saturday the rut seemed to have hit hard. I would say the rut is in full swing right now. There are a lot of bucks around here compared to does. So I would think a decoy would be a good thing to have for the bucks that got run off.
