Whitetail Genetics in/near Vinton Ohio ?

Anyone have any idea what the deer health / genetic makeup of the area holds? Of course there is always some sleepers everywhere. Just trying to get an overall feel if this is just an average county in Ohio. Thanks

From what I know, normal deer population. Little chance of trophy, but good chance at tagging.

Thanks BC. I looked at the countys that have produced some large ones/in the books and they appear to be spread out across the state.

Ohio has the potential statewide, but most is in South/South West.

Got it thank you. I have a buddy in Va that I may go in with on a full year lease in Oh. Turkey and whitetail all year, ability to improve the land and long term. Will see if it pans out.

Yup. Western and south west. The counties in north west KY are some of the best in the country and just on the other side of the ohio river from those SW counties in Ohio. there are some GIANTS

I'm not familiar with Vinton County but I do hunt Pike County which is nearby. I've hunted there the last 10 years and come across some really good bucks. Depending on the cost for the lease, if it's like Pike County I would take a good look at it. Feel free to PM me.
