For me I'm kinda up in the air. I think it would be very cool to have such a rare animal but being so rare it would want me to pass and let him live. Just not sure.

Depends if there were larger bulls in the area. If he was as big as anything else, I'd take him. It's not like he's going to live forever anyway.

Way to go IKIC you may have started another s%$#storm with this one...LOL I'm kinda with you though. Not real sure if I would want to take him or not. My guess is I probably would in the heat of the moment.

Tough call but I think I would have to take him. I mean how many people have an albino moose mounted in their living room:)

That's the first thing that pops in my head.

So there is talk of this moose being around for awhile and that the local tribes see albino animals as spirits and that they are sacred. There is a lot of talk that he was wrong to take it.

I think if it's legal for him to take it then he should be able too.

I'm surprised it is legal to kill him. Here in OK it is illegal to kill a albino deer.
That's very interesting.. never knew any states had such a rule.

Albino is extra cool not to mention that is a pretty good bull. Not sure if I caught where that was but I agree with the earlier post, depends on what else is out there. I can honestly say I wouldn't shoot him only because he is albino. But if he is a good represntative of the area, which it looks like he is, and the extra "coolness" I would take him.

Situational ethics... love it. Lol :)

If it was legal, then he had every right to whack him. As for me, tough call. I am sure that there were/are lots of people who knew the albino was around and he very well could have been in someone's sights before. I probably would have let him go and look for another bull to fill my tag. Take some pictures and pass. Not that important for me to have his head on my wall. But I surley won't think bad of anyone who shot him, it was their right to do so.

There is a line of thought that albinism as a trait is harmful to the population as a whole and therefore should be culled out whenever possible. I don't really know about that, just repeating what I've heard.

Yes, I would shoot it. The bigger questions are how I would pay for the full-body mount and where I would put it.

Albino deer are protected in Illinois as well. Everything I have read from biologists state that albinos have inferior genetics and should be removed from the herd. If I knew the animal was sacred to the Indian tribe I would not shoot it. Don't need the hassle in my life.

I'm not sure if I would want the PETA freaks camping out on my front lawn demanding my head. Would be an amazing trophy and I'm sure if it were legal I would love to have it hanging on my wall but that headache might make me think twice.

After reading the article, I most likely wouldn't shoot it as long as I knew the significance to the indigenous folks. If I didn't know before hand, I would make the same mistake these folks did.

It would be a bad day for the PETA freaks if they showed up on my lawn demanding my head! I'd see how much love they really had for animals when I sicced my catahoula's on them! LOL Actually that would be pretty entertaining!
