What to buy?

I am planning an elk hunt and one of the items listed is to always take a pair of PACK BOOTS. So, could the members help me in coming up with a great boot to purchase. I have looked at the various boots and the more I look the more this country boy gets confused. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
