It's kinda funny to me. Made me chuckle. But then I guess you could put your antlers on it till your taxi needed them back to mount on your accual deer. Might not be a bad deal

not necessarily this particular deer head, but there are others to choose from, if you found one you liked would you go that rout or rather pay the extra money for your own to be done?

haha, I know what you guys mean. I have a deer hanging up where the cape was messed up so they had to use a diff cape. id still rather use cape from actual deer I shot though. but I was thinking for matching sheds that you find, to put on and old head that's already mounted like these? and maybe resale to suckers in sun valley or Jackson, with a profit margin ofcourse:rolleyes:

There is no pride in displaying something you did not take, other than the pride of ownership. A mount is the final result of a hunt, including all of the hardships overcome to obtain it. Pride in the fact that you own and can display it is the reason people buy trophy heads. I often wonder if they claim they have hunted the animals they have bought.

A mail order bride isn't a bad idea. I think they are required to stay with you 10 years to get their green card. Thats actually not bad length for a marriage these days. lol

hahaha, ok so lets say you did shoot the deer, you have the antlers from that deer you shot but your cape was ruined. I bet more often than we know, we aren't getting the cape back that we sent in with head, if taxi messes up on it or something its easy to find a new hide. I understand what you guys are saying though. but for resale purposes, I see it as a good market. how many rich cali folks are building cabins in the rocky mt states and fill them to the brim with wild life mounts that they bought? a lot of them do, when I was in the insulation business wed contract out to a lot of these cabin/summer/1 week stay, huge homes and it always blew my mind with the head mounts that would be brought in. more of a business idea than anything.

Craigslist has a pile of deer heads for sale.... I mean a pile. People inherit grandpas farm and sell the heads online. Happens all the time.
