With my new purchase of the SMR Paladin 300 Win Mag I am looking for opinions of rifle scopes.

I really like the Vortex Razor HD 5x20x50 with the EBR-1 reticle. And am set on it unless you guys have a better suggestion on the Nightforce.

The F1 has come up a few times for the Nightforce.

Thanks for the info!

Nightforce are bombproof scopes. I don't have as much experience with Vortex scopes, but in the service I have seen nightforces put through the ringer and keep going strong. It is a tough decision. You get the 35mm tube on the vortex v. a 30mm with the night force. The nightforce is .5lbs lighter and an inch shorter; which I like personally.

If I was going to pick between the two, and my life depended on its durability, I would go nightforce.

I have the nightforce F1 with the mlr 2 reticle in it and it is awesome but if your looking for higher magnaficatioin the F1 only comes in 4-14x50 but that has been just fine for me. I have used it in F class 800 900 and 1000 yard matches and also used it in a tactical match in the cascade mountains last may shooting out to 800 yards and is my favorite scope for sure. The other nightforces are good i just dont like the reticle as much have had the mpr1 and the mpr2 and the reticles are just too fine for me especially when you start putting it along tree lines the lines fade into the trees or grass. If you have any more questions about long range or tactical scopes let me know i have had them all from leupold mark 4 -premier-nightforce-vortex-and have used schmidt and bender. Feel free to fire away

how does the night force compare with the s&b? seems to be a question not many have been able to compare for me . both look great to me just wondering about actual use and opinion from a owner of both?

the night force are awesome scopes and so are the S&B. The biggest difference between the two is the s&b glass is going to be a lot better, thats what i have noticed between them and also the the s&b does have some neat reticles and also turret is set up pretty neat also but the price different is a lot. i am super happy with my F1 nightforce. I have also used the premier line of scopes and i think there glass is the best out there for tactical scopes but thats with my eye, they are super heavy and built like a tank. All three are great scopes. Im going to get the new nightforce shv when i get a new rifle built and try that one out, the reviews seem like its going to be a good scope for $1000 night force.
