Vortex Diamondback Question

Hey guys,
I need to get a scope for my .300 Weatherby Mag. I am a college student so I can't spend a ton of money on a scope right now. I am thinking that I do not want to go too cheap because the recoil will ruin a poor scope. I have been thinking the Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40 would be a good fit for my needs, but am still a little worried about the recoil on a $200 scope. Please let me know what you guys think. I picked up a Vortex spotting scope recently and am really impressed with their glass.

Thanks

why settle for a Diamondback, when you can get the viper.

the 2-7X32 is an impressive little scope. I have one with a BDC reticle that sits on my 7-08. The only problem with the closeouts I posted above is the 2-7 only comes with the C3 reticle (circle with crosshairs). It is actually a neat reticle. The 6.5-20X44 is on closeout only with the wide duplex, which some people find kind of thin.

The Vortex Viper Series compares to Leupold's VX-3 series both optically and in function.

Don't get me wrong, the Diamondbacks are nice scopes. I would take a Diamondback ahead of a Leupold VX-2. It is just the deals on the discontinued Vipers are outstanding.
