Good evening all. How thick are the big, scary, brown bears in the Greys River drainage?

I haven't knowingly hunted in a Grizzly area yet. We're considering some areas in this drainage, and I want to know what we're getting into if we apply for tags.

I understand near the big park they are thick, but that they also have been expanding their population a ways out from there.

Regards,

Chance of seeing one.. yes, but minimal. I spend a ton of time in the greys all summer and fall and have never seen a grizzly in there, but they do occasionally get seen. But it is nothing like further north yet.

What he said. The Highway for the most part has protected the Salts and the Wyoming Range, the closer to the Gros Ventre, Tetons and park in general you get the more likely you will run into one.
