unit 69/84 1st season colorado elk

my first time drawing elk in Colorado,,,if anybody has any first hand experience with this unit id love to hear about it,,,feel free to p m me ,,Ill be on only the public lands in the san Isabels,,what kind of a bull size wise is repectable for this unit?Is 84 better place to start than 69?thanks for any and all info,as theres not a ton of info out there on these units, besides whats on colo website info.

Those aren't managed as trophy units they are limited draw for crowd control purposes. There are some nice Bulls in there but they are the exception rather than the norm. If you hunt hard you will probably get a chance at a 6 point,

Any elk in there?

Did you draw for 84/69? Have you been able to scout the area? I'm wondering if there elk around there or just a million hunters.

just got back,,,there were a fair amount of hunters around even though it was a limited tag,but I did score a fair 5x5 on opening evening.im pleased.
