Didn't get drawn for Wyoming Gen elk tag so looking for new OTC hunt and tired of eating tag soup in Oregon. Unit 60 looks like a possibility. We usually bivy hunt 5-8 miles from the TH, but not sure how far we can get from the roads here. Any info would be much appreciated.

I live near that unit in Utah. Lot of roads, and some private ranches in the area. Lot of access in the area. Check it out on google earth.

Pick up the National Geographic Trails Illustrated Map "Manti La Sal". This shows the majority of the unit and the roads.
Best hunting is on the private, you can get fairly far off the road up the Sinbad Valley. There is an ATV trail that gets you way up there, then you can hike from there. Be careful not to cross a fence or you will be on the Sky Mesa place. The high country around Buckeye Resevoir is neat, but most of the elk will be on Redd Ranch's private. A hardcore plan would be to hike down Rock Creek from Buckeye, I've never done it but it sure as hell looks like there could be a pig in there. I have seen a giant come out of the private in Rock Creek so the genetics are there. Hope it helps...
