unit 55. hunted the unit in the late 90s. and our group was thinkin of make a trip back, hunted the taylor park area back then. and rifle hunted. was just worried that during archery elk season that area would be full of vacation people that time of year.??? any info is much appreciated.

Lots of ATV's, mo-cycles, side-by-sides, quads, 4-wheelers, hikers, firewood collectors, fishermen, campers, tourists and mountain bikers too numerous to count. Add in fellow hunters scouting for later seasons and you got the idea, right? Hunted there archery season last two years with no success. Going again this year. I'm a glutton for punishment.

There's a lot of elk hunters its a draw area but you can draw a elk tag with zero points and they give out a bunch! There's a ton of dirt bike trails too! You will have to no the area to even see a buck!
