Hey guys, Been a while since I've been active on the forum. I was wondering if anybody here is familiar with unit 43 I have a archery mule deer tag there. I am having a hard time figuring out where I can leave my car when I pack in. Everywhere seems to have no overnight parking. which I find ironic considering they advertise the trails as backpacking trails and you have to leave your car when you overnight back pack lol. If anybody could help my out that would be great.

The last thing I want to do is have my car towed when I'm out of cellphone service 500 miles away from home. My only other option is having my relatives drop me off at the trailhead and picking me up a couple days later. Any advice or guidance would be very helpful.

Sorry I did not see that was on the basic feed on my phone

What trail are you planning on packing in from? Depending where you are at I may be able to give you some pointers on parking

I can't help you on where to park for a couple of days but I can tell you that Colorado is nowhere close to Utah on how fast that they tow vehicles. I have seen cars and trucks parked on I-70 for 5 or 6 days before they disappear and I have seen hunters park just off of I-70 but still on the right of way and not come back for a couple of days.

But if your luck is like mine they will tow your vehicle a hour after you leave it.

I dont know of any trail heads there you cant park at or would be towed from. You dont want to take a car, you need a good 4x4 so you can get through the roads out of Marble and find a place to pack in from there. The Aspen side will be all hikers and no deer and those are the trailheads you can get to with a car other then Red stone and i didnt see many deer there.

I'm confused with this "being towed from a trailhead comment", I just never seen that unless it was in an area that had a lot of suspicious night time activity.

If there is any doubt get a hold of the Ranger Office, NF Service or local law enforcement.

Ya honestly in redstone ur gonna be pretty safe as long as you don't block any traffics depending where you go I park trailers there all the time for days. Plus people camping there for over the 14 day period. Marble isn't bad either the aspen side is where you may need to be worried, but still know of a lot of places that allow overnight parking. I'm gonna bet any trailhead you go to you can park at and not worry, avalanche creek is a fun road
