Unit 39 spring bear?

For the few of you Idahoans on this new forum or anyone that knows any info; I am looking to bear hunt in unit 39. Looking to Spot/Stalk or possibly bait? Just wondering when in the season it gets good or too crowded with hunters in that area or any pertinent info that you wouldn't mind sharing?

Get up into or close to Atlantis to set up some bait. If your going to spot and stalk, stay close to the upper Boise above Arrowrock, they will come down to the water looking for winter kill. North side slopes will have more rewards than the baren south facing ones. GL and be safe.

I think he means Atlanta. If the weather doesn't improve there won't be much out to start the season. I don't know how much pressure it gets personally but from what I've heard its a popular place for hunters from the treasure valley.

Have hunted/baited 39 for a long time. It can be a busy area. You got some good advice up above. If you are going to bait try gated roads or area's with several "Closed" roads 39 get's a lot of dogs running in the spring. Good Luck!

Also if you get a "Wiff" of peanut butter then you are close to me.....LOL. Just this last week I scored 55 gallons of apple cinnamon syrup and 450 lbs. of peanut butter for baiting.....;-)
