I'm headed up to unit 27 a week from today for mule deer (also have a wolf tag) and was wondering if anyone has hunted the middle fork area? I've got a flight chartered and am just trying to narrow down which landing strip I want to fly into. I'm looking at indian creek, thomas creek, and mahoney.
Whichever one we go to I'd like to hike up to the top and set camp around 7-8000 but my biggest concern is water. Was wondering if anyone has actually hunted this country and is familiar with any springs or creeks which typically keep water in them? The topos and my garmin show all the creeks but I know its dry country and they aren't 100% reliable.
Any guidance in these areas would be much appreciated since I've never been there and scouting wasn't an option (I'm from Oklahoma). Feel free to PM me and thanks in advance!
