Would anyone be willing to help out a newbie?
I'm bow hunting this year for the first time as I just moved to the state. I've chosen this unit because I have a place to stay on the front and back end of the hunt which will make the transition easier I feel like.

I'm 30 years old, in good shape, so getting 2-3 miles back isn't a problem. I have no desire to backpack into an area.

That being said, I am looking for some suggestions on places to camp and mostly someone to narrow down my search of places to start. I won't be able to scout, but I will have several different weekends to hunt in September.

I've seen the Colorado hunt atlas so I've got a few ideas, but is there anyone with experience in these units that isn't hunting there anymore who might help out?
Thanks in advance,
James

I hunted it a few years ago, not sure how much help I can be, but shoot me a pm if you're interested. I'll be out of town for a week, but can provide a little more detail when I have access to my maps

After some EXTENSIVE internet research today I've narrowed it down a bit.

The places I am thinking about trying are Fyd Peak area, off FRWLL MTN road(west of FRWLL MTN), and the entire roadless area S of Green&%^$& Mine.

Thus, does anyone have any input? Again, I'm not looking to steal any areas or barge in on anyone's hunt. Just looking to find elk sooner than later with limited(~8 days total to hunt) time.
Thanks,
James
