Unit 130 deer

So I am going to burn my points this year. I have 4 and am going to put in for either Region G or unit 130. I want to burn them so I can start hunting one of the other units every year instead of waiting on the point game. I hunt muzzle-loader deer here in Colorado every year and that tag runs the same time as the Region G tag. So I can also draw unit 130 with 4 points in the special draw. My question is can I tag out on a good 170" plus deer in 130 if I hunt hard for a week? I am not new to chasing mulies and am willing to put the miles on the boots. I have good glass and am in good shape. I would appreciate general opinions of 130 from guys that have hunted it in the last 2 years. If you don't want to put info on the thread just shoot me a P.M. hahaha. I just looked at draw odds for 130 and last year it took 7 points to draw because the applications went up so I will probably put in for G.

If I remember right 130 is weather dependant and there is also a general season before it. Im in the same boat as you. 4 points and I cant see drawing the LE units I was looking at 4 years ago any time soon or them being worth the line you have to wait in for them so Im looking to unload my points and hunt regions I can draw every year or 2 after that.

Yeah I agree. It would be good to hunt G this year and then hunt a general tag that takes 1-2 points and hunt it every 2 or three years. Then you can draw an Az tag every third year and a Idaho or Nevada tag every third year and walla you are hunting your home state plus one more for mule deer every year. This accomplishes two things. You get to hunt mulies twice a year and become a better hunter. It also enables you to learn the same areas over and over from hunting them and you have a better shot at killing a big buck. The near max or max point game is old and I want to hunt instead of banking points.
