This is a town buck so no one should be scheduling hunts after this buck, but the genetics are out of this world. It shows the potential in Oregon if only management were different.
I am reposting pictures from the local Bend paper, Nosler apparently is saying that the first pic was taken on their property, that I discovered from a thread on ifish. http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?p=4652592#post4652592

I guess when it all said and done he is close to 260. Maybe a 40" outside spread, and a 30" inside spread. thoughts?

Enjoy

BTW there are a few more pics of this deer in the ifish thread. Check it out.

Crazy to think I live only a few miles from a buck of that caliber. The biggest bucks I've seen in the last 10 years have all been in Bend city limits. I have a friend who saw a giant buck, not as big as this one but similar, on public land about 10 miles outside of Bend last November. I've also heard of a few caught on trail cams that sound similar to it too. The genetics are there, the big public land bucks or usually not seen unless by trail cam or during the rut. Seeing a buck even close to this one on public land one is very, very rare. But I believe there are a few still roaming around.

thats insane! while i was living in arkansas i lived in these apartments tat had a tiny parcel of trees with a small pond in the back. one morning i was looking out the window and this monster whitetail buck was feeding at the tree line, then i seen my nieghboor sneak around the corner and pull his string back and down that buck. haha, im sure that wasnt legal but when its i ur blood how do you not! it was during the seaon by the way, just in town. do you guys think that these towns bucks get large like this due to the minerals and crap we put on our lawns?

I think its just age and genetics. Look at the top 10 records for Oregon non-typicals. Not many chemicals in the lawns back then!

All over the map as well. If we (Oregon) had different policies in place, we could really have some great bucks (and Bulls) in this state. Its too bad, its managed like meat hunts. The Ochoco's are a prime example, more than 4000 deer tags, its a zoo and every forked horn gets whacked.

I see Glenn Parks name on the list. That guy had the buck$ and hunted all over the world, its amazing he is on the list. He use to own the mill in Estacada and had a bar with all of his mounts.

I think its just age and genetics. Look at the top 10 records for Oregon non-typicals. Not many chemicals in the lawns back then!
