I know it hasn't gained as much traction here as other states but it would be a good idea to start e-mailing your elected reps and voicing your opinion on this now. Better sooner than later. As I have stated on other posts regarding this giving states control of federally managed land is asking for trouble. There is a reason various energy and development groups support this and are backing candidates that support this. While the conservation groups us as hunters support are opposed to it including the RMEF. I am very conservative leaning but I am going to side with the other party on this. I believe the Republicans are wrong for supporting this and the Democrats are right to oppose it. Whatever side you are on make sure you do your research and make your voice heard.

Gonna state the obvious here, but we know why the right supports this issue, money talks, in turn taking or misusing our public lands. We all should be against this by default no matter what side of the spectrum we fall under. I'm with you guy. IGWT I would have never pinned you for a conservative. Who'd a thunk it?

Glad to see you raising awareness in CO, IGWT.

I mentioned it in the other threads, but I really think this issue transcends party lines.

Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike can find themselves on common ground with this issue.

Down here in the SW corner of the state, the local officials (County) are very much opposed to the Feds. They are always chomping at the bit to do anything they can to make the local USFS, BLM and NPS seem like the bad guys. Right now there is a move to take the management of our local reservoir away from the USFS and let the county do it. The launch main ramp operation needs a new operator and the county commissioners think they can do it better, but I'll bet not cheaper!. Our previous sheriff was always bad mouthing the way the feds managed the roads in the NF. Just got a new sheriff, so that might tone down a little.

Bottom line is that there is no love lost between the locals and the feds here in the four corners area.

Cowboy, I always thought that the "I hate the Federal Government" line was formed starting with Wyoming. The ranching based legislature hates everything about the Feds, except all the agricultural subsidies, and tax-breaks/loopholes they get. Funny huh?

That is so true they sure suck up once a new farm bill is being drafted.
