Just thought I'd start something kind of different, in Wildlife and Landscapes as a thread. Does anybody have any short time lapse clips for, Wildlife and Landscapes that they have done? Just messing with the camera this past Sunday afternoon and thought I'd post a new thread.

Ya way cool! Have you seen how Eastmans and a few other shows are doing time lapse? Alot of the night shots with the stars look like their moving and on the last Eastmans they were doing some Matrix stuff. Pretty cool these guys are stepping up the game.

Seeing that on Eastmans TV and on some of the other shows is what got me interested in trying to learn how to do it. I'm going to try the night stuff out away from lights on a moonless night and see if I can film the Milky Way.

For this clip, I basically turned off all the auto features of the camera, and use a timer remote controller to take the pictures for me on intervals. I took 1,358 still pictures, 5 seconds apart on a Canon 60D, Sunday afternoon and put them all together in this short clip at 30 pictures per second using Quicktime Pro, "Open Image Sequence" and imported it into Final Cut Pro or iMovie to add the music and transitions. I have the Apple platform.

There is a good write up I've found below on a forum below that goes into more detail on the basics on time lapse using a digital camera. A guy named Tom Lowe has done some awesome astronomy time lapse work using a dolly and digital cameras.
