This year I set out to try and harvest two wilderness bulls with my bow. One in New Mexico where I am a resident and one OTC in Colorado . I drew Gila wilderness in New Mexico and picked a wilderness area in Colorado . This is all DIY backpack style. Long story short I got it done but met some amazing people along the way . In the Gila I was given beer, bacon, and a pack out with mules for no charge from some nice other hunters. In Colorado I had a friend take the day off work to help Me pack out.I also met some guides who gave me some great information and a burrito from a saddle bag.
As the season progresses remember to help out others along the way. It is easy to get a bit competitive and sometimes frustrated with other hunters in your area but you never know when you just might be the other hunter. Be friendly to others and willing to give a hand - I sure will be giving a smile to others on the trail for quite a while now.
