My 7 month old pup and I daydreaming about duck hunting on a scorching hot summer day. At this point she has read my mind and her face reflects our shared disappointment and she has yet to retrieve her first duck!

One of these days, you'll shoot the same picture and your pup will have retrieved a dog's lifetime of ducks. That thoughtful look will be filled with memories rather than expectations and you'll love that dog for their special personality and all the shared time afield. You two might even be thinking about the same hunt.

Great looking pup! Mine is a two year old yellow. She's had two great seasons so far and is shaping up to be quite the dog as long as I keep her busy. Good luck with the training!

Well the water training is going slower than I anticipated. She is getting close though, still hesitates when her feet come off the bottom but she has the willingness.

They can get pretty sketchy around water from the beginning. It really helped me when we were in water that had a very gradual slope, with lots of water that comes up around her belly, they seem much more comfortable there, when starting out
