Tent Patch

I use a GI tent of unknown vintage and over the winter some mice got to it and chewed a series of holes in the roof. I patched the holes with some iron on patches, since no one in this area would work on a tent this old, and so far so good. The plan was to test the patches through the harder weather of Elk season but I had to cancel my hunt.
Its a simple process . Clean the area and use an iron at the hottest level. I roughly doubled the manufactures recommended time withe iron. All the holes are right above the stove the heat seemed to not be a problem and as above so far so good.

All the usual 'nons' .

Well,, made it to elk country . Not very cold but we used the stove every day from dark to daylight and the iron on patches show no sign of a problem. Very happy with them.
I've since learned the tent is a '59 model, almost as old as I am.

I a pinch, that Gorilla duct tape is awesome, I believe it comes in 2" , 3" & 4" , and it is at-least 10 times stronger than regular duct tape. IMHO.

We used G tape and it failed when it got too hot, and that was before we got a Kwik Kamp stove. If memory serves it would last about 48 hours and required replacement. Great in a pinch though as you say.
