Been contemplating an SWFA 3-15x42mm Tactical scope for a long range rig.
Looking for those folks with first hand experience to share their thoughts, comparisons and recommendations.
The old "Super Snipers" were very rugged and really the only thing they lacked was quality glass. I am really curious if this has improved?
Comparing a SWFA 3-15x42mm Tactical to say a Vortex HS-T 4-16x44mm, they are both similar in length, the SWFA being about 3oz heavier. Both 30mm tubes, both similar field of views, both similar eye reliefs. SWFA has 140MOA knobs, while the Vortex 75MOA knobs. Both also have their own MOA style hash mark reticles.
Price point is also very similar, $599 SWFA, $569 Vortex.
Moving up to a first focal plane, add $100 for the SWFA, add $330 to Vortex to get a 4-16x50mm PST.
Thanks for any and all comments.
