Well I made the big mistake of looking through some Swaro's yesterday.

EL and SLC

Can someone please explain the difference to me?

The EL seem to be so much more $$??

EL- (Exceptionally light?) SWAROvision SWARObright SWAROclean

SLC (Slim light compact)- SWAROclean

Is there a major difference between these two?

In layman's terms, the higher the dollar figure on optics the better three things are:

1. Low light gathering ability- This is where the European glass shines, gathering light and clear pictures well past sunset and before sunrise.
2. Edge abberation- The cheaper the glass the more the edges of your sight picture are distorted.

3. Durability/Weight and CS- Pretty straight forward here.

Without holding them and reading product descriptions you can probably break down the price difference somewhere there.

One significant difference that I have read about (I've never looked through ELs) is that the ELs have lenses that flatten out the image that you see. The SLC lenses don't do this. I have read that the ELs may not appeal to everyone's eyes due to this image flattening. Not sure if the ELs are any better or not in low light.
