There is a great group from Idaho making a difference in the wolf battle. They realized pretty quick that trapping is the only way to consistently kill wolves and that it is very expensive to be successful consistently. They started in the panhandle of Idaho and are growing as they are able. It costs $35 to join and they reimburse up to $500 per wolf taken from Dec-March. Here's a link and if anyone is around north Idaho they are having a valentines dinner/fundraiser at this weekend. Again these guys are making a difference in battle that we all have strong feeling about, but aren't quite sure how to help.

I wonder how many people from Canada will sell the wolves to people in Idaho to cash in on this....Anytime money is involved people will try and cheat the system to take advantage of it. Ive seen that done with Coyote contests out east more times than I would like to admit....

Don't get me wrong. The only good wolf is a dead on in my opinion same with coyotes I just fear that introducing money may not be the answer...on the side note it may get more people interested in killing them instead of complaining about it.

I guess I really never understood the plan to re-introduce them in the first place and the reason for protecting them as closely as they do today. I do however understand that the west has some big country and I really doubt anyone would hear those distant gunshots and come to see what you were shooting at...

What I do know is that in Pennsylvania where deer hunting is a way of life people would have just shot them wolves and left them rot before we watched our deer herds get wiped out.

I like how groups like this are trying to encourage people to hunt and trap them. Its a step in the right direction and I commend them but how long until the Govt shuts this down? How many states herds have to be annihilated before some guys just start their own management plans? With the government involved and all of the agencies and anti groups getting involved the herds will be gone (If they are not already) by the time someone makes a decision.

These guys did their homework and went through the Fish and Game to make sure they were good before they started and continue to be endorsed by the Fish and Game and keep them in the loop with everything they do.

Great fundraiser with over 400 people in attendance. Looks like the RMEF has promised a grant to help the cause. Anyone in the Boise area they are planning a tenative meeting for June.
