A little background- I spent several years working at a fairgrounds on sprinkler systems. Not new to this thing, but this one has me stumped. Hoping you guys have some insight.

Low level well that is now having some silt issues. Fought through it with the pump, that seems to be resolved.

Next issue is rather random. I have two zones that now come on regardless of what the system is telling it to do. Have adjusted pressure on valves so I am thinking I have two valves that need some work. Any other insight before I go tearing valves out?

If they are coming on when they are not suppose to I would say that there is a problem with the timer. Just to see disconnect both of them from the timer and see what happens. On the valves I can see them leaking or allowing water to flow through them but not just coming on when they want to.

Could be valves sticking in the open position. I have one valve that does this sometimes and I can take the cover off and tap the valve and it will close.

Should be able to take a multimeter set on DC and test the leads to that valve to see if it is energized (being told to open) or just stuck open when it should be closed.

More than likely it's an issue with that valve or it's wiring as opposed to the main unit malfunctioning and sending the open signal when it shouldn't.

If the units are staying on I would bet its the valves. If they come on by themselves you probably have a timer issue.as per Jim P

If your pump had a slit problem first then start with that replace valves and install a Y strainer before the control valves

My guess is valves. I was on a cow calf operation for 17 years. The owner had a pretty extensive sprinkler system around his house. Every time we had issues with stations coming on out of rotation it was due to a stuck valve. Esp. considering your silting problem....
