Been looking at SD to pick up an otc tag in case I tag out early on my Utah deer. Found some decent spots via Google earth. Anyone hunted SD much? I'd like to stay in the southwest region but I'll go northwest too. Any guidance or advice is much appreciated! Specifically GPS cords to honey holes close to the road with 18" goats ;-) !!!!

Sorry I am no help, all my SD Antelope honey holes are populated with 16-17" goats. If the population has recovered, I suspect you could pick a couple of walk in areas North and Northeast of Bell Fourche and have a great hunt.

nothing specific but check the walk in atlas on the GFP website Lots and lots of public and walk in all over that part of the state. Really wet this year. Water hole hunting may not be as productive.

I agree with sodaksooner, it was wet the month of June in Western SD, they got some real soakers. I hunted the southwest region two years ago and the northwest this past year. There is a good amount of public in either place. Antelope numbers stistically are down, they have cut back tags for the better part of 5 years now I'd guess. You can find antelope, but finding a good quality buck might be the difficult part.
