Hey - I only have a cool story, but no pictures. Went up with one of my sons and hunted 2 days. On day one we spotted a big boar about 3.5 miles away. I was hesitant on making a stalk that far and how hard it would be to locate the bear once we got there, but my son said lets go so we drove around this mountain and got the wind right. We made a pretty hard 2 mile stalk and found the bear in a big open flat eating grass/onions. We stalked to as close as I could get and still keep the wind in our favor and then set up for a shot. It was pretty far, 350 yards, and my son was steady and felt he could make the shot. Well in the glasses I see the bullet hit just under the bear as dirt flew when he pulled the trigger. The bear took off and went into a steep canyon. We tracked him for about 200 yards by his massive foot print, but no blood and he was gone into the timber. My son was a bit down on missing the shot, but he made that shot on his elk at 345 yards and had confidence, but I guess he got bear fever. It was an incredible hunt and the stalk was so neat - a great experience that did not end up with a kill. That will be a memory we will have forever. The next day we spotted 5 bears. A sow with 2 year old cubs, a blond bear about 200 lbs. and then another big boar. We were spent in the evening when we saw them and they were too far off to plan a stalk - we will go and try next week and hope they stay close to the same area. I will try to get some pics of bears next time out. I did not use the spotter this time, but my binoculars on the tripod to spot the bears. We are walking ridges and in an attempt to save on weight, I'm not carrying the spotter, as my 10x42 Swarovski EL are unreal for spotting bears.
