Looks like NV approved the option to purchase a cow tag to successfully drawn resident buck deer or resident bull elk tags in select units.

I can understand their reasoning if it truly is to try and help prevent disease........not sure how killing them off healthy will prevent future spread...

Strange that I have 4 points for cow elk in one of the highest elk population units in Nv and I can't draw a freakin tag!

That is definitely odd IKIC......I have a couple points but have only applied 2nd draw. Thinking this year I may put in for archery, my buddies seem to always get a tag up here with archery.

Have they indicated which specific units the cow tags will be available for yet?

I am not sure the exact units even though it sounds like a lot of changes are happening in area 6. Below is a link for their justification and explanations for the adjustments.
