Scouting Nevada 061/071 for bull elk Sept hunt

Just got back from scouting in Nevada 061/071 for muzzleloader bull elk. Very disappointed in what I saw. Only saw one cow elk on the last evening near Big Bend campground. I did meet some awesome hunters with archery cow elk tags that gave me some good advice. If anyone has any tips or history with the units please let me know. Waited 15 years for the tag...leaving on the 26th for the Sept 1st opener.

I would think the majority of the elk are up high right now because it's so warm. The area around Big Bend campground is pretty low country.

We did pretty good scouting in 072 but we didnt see anything down around 5500 ft. - all the bulls we saw were 7000+ and it was really hot.
