Savage A22

I've been thinking of buying my lady her own 22 mag rifle. My mom bought my brother and I a Remington 597 when we were kids it was fun and very accurate to shoot.

I noticed savage has come out with a new autoloader. The A22 I believe is the gun. I know they offer it in the 22mag and I like it over the 17hmr based on we may shoot foxes or bobcats with it.

Does anyone have experience with how accurate these guns are? How well does it feed a new round?

Don't know about those, but believe CZ came out with a 22mag autoloader, might be worth a look...

My brother just bought one in 17 HMR. Not shot it yet. But reviews for the 17 say its accurate, not sure about the 22 mag. Gun store said they hear good things from customers and have been selling lots. There are sportic reviews that talk about feeding issues, most of which say it goes away around 200-400 rounds. Myself, I'm not sure about it either, because it's an autoloader.

I watched some reviews on youtube comparing the cz 512 to the savage A22, the CZ wins easily in 25 yd accuracy. But at 100 yards both guns had a 2"-4" group with the CZ still on top. Not good enough for me my marlin Xt-22 22mag can take the eyes out of a squirrel at 100+yds. Semi autos are fun but with the large groups out to 100 yards I am going to stick to the bolt. Its too bad Remington doesn't make the 597magnum anymore she was ugly but very accurate.

I'm going to look into the CZ 455, Marlin Xt, Savage 93, Browning t-bolt and Ruger American rimfire. If anyone has experience shooting any of these bolt guns please feel free to comment. I'm leaning towards the CZ, Tbolt or the Ruger.

I have two Ruger Americans, one in .22LR and the other in .17HMR. They are the most accurate rimfires I have ever owned, and I've owned a lot of rimfire rifles. The .17HMR is more accurate than the .22LR. Both wear Nikon rimfire specific scopes.
