Which brand would you guys recommend? These are the options for which I have narrowed down, and are in my price range generally. I will be getting one in 300 win mag. What's the more efficient brand in your opinion? I don't care.too much about weight of the rifle, more about accuracy and reliability.

Well I?ve shot tikka and savage and own a savage myself. My thoughts are the tikka has one of the smoothest actions I?ve felt from the factory and shoots well. However my favorite gun is my savage in 338win mag. Overall feel and accuracy out of the box is top notch at a great price. I?m a savage guy to the core now.

I'd get the one that I like the best.

Accuracy has more to do with the shooter and ammo than the rifle anymore. Another one that you can throw into the mix is the Weatherby Vanguard. As for accuracy my Vanguard in .25-06 shot a moa group right out of the box with the first 5 shots that I fired out of it.

From what I have read they only share the action. I have heard that Weatherby supplies their own barrels.

I can only speak for the Tikka, as I have the super lite (5.8# via Cabela's) in 30-06, It is definitely a shooter, and a joy to pack around the mountains. A bro-in-law got the same rifle in 300 WSM, and he complained that it was horrible to shoot due to the recoil. He upgraded the recoil pad and had the barrel ported, and that addressed his complaints. If weight is not a concern for you, you may want to shy away from the lightweight models in 300 Win.

Two thing in rifles that really don't go together are lightweight and magnum. That is if you want manageable recoil.

Have owned a Howa in 7RM. Now own a Tikka T3 SL in 7RM and also a Savage Model 16 in 260 Rem. The Tikka has the smoothest action closely followed by the Howa. Howa has the best trigger closely followed by the Tikka. All three shoot MOA but the Savage is the best. I would feel confident with either of the three but currently have my eye on a Hells Canyon Speed in 300WM. I just love rifles.

I can't speak to the others, but I have a Savage just like what you are looking at on the way. Was very happy with it.

My main hunting rifle is a Tikka T3 Featherlite s/s in 270win, smooth action, excellent trigger, light enough to pack around the mountains(every hunt for me is a mountain hunt), and very rugged/durable. Ive used it now for the past 12 seasons of mountain hunting, two or three backpack trips per season plus every Saturday and Sunday when not on a pack trip from September 10 until Novemeber 30. Can't speak to the others other than they handle really nice when I've fondled them in stores. Can't really go wrong with any them.
