RIFLESHOOTER Magazine Scam

I just received a letter from "North Shore Agency" (a collection agency) notifying me that I owe money to them for a subscription to RIFESHOOTER for a subscription that I let expire. I tried the magazine for one year and found out it wasn't what I expected, so I let it expire.

This is a scam to scare people to renew, weather they want to or not. Tried getting ahold of this outfit and never could talk to a live person. I'll be calling the Colorado Attorney General later today and also the magazine.

This magazine is part of Peterson Publishing, so beware of their business practices.

I wish more people would contact their State AG on issues like this. It's really the only way to put shady businesses out of business.

I used to subscribe to Petersen's Hunting and my subscription expired in Dec. I got an email notice from them reminding me to re-new so I sent them a long response as to why I was no longer interested. Mostly because they have become over 50% ads. That's not what I pay for.
They have yet to stop sending the magazine.

Some places will let you know when they are set to renew, others email you after the renewal and some do nothing.

I just assume that all subscriptions are auto-renew and mark the anniversary date on my calendar just in case I don't want to re-up.

This subscription was not done on the computer. I Saw a copy of the mag and tore out a subscription card. When it expired, they sent me a renewal (actually several) which I just threw away.

You will usually find them in the bathroom above the toilet. They are used to occupy your time.

They are very useful if you have them in hunting camp especially if you run out of TP since you can't wipe your butt with your cell-phone when you're done wasting time on facebook.

The problem there is that the glossy paper doesn't work as well as the old catalogs did back in the day. They smear instead of collecting.
