Yuck. Well sorry the ankle didn't hold up for the shoot. Standing for long periods can be hard on my feet and I don't have the new surgery. Trucks always seem to break down at the least opportune time. Good luck with the continued PT and hopefully it strengthens the ankle for the fall. Swimming is good cardio and pretty easy on the joints if that is an option to help out getting in shape for the fall. I wasn't sure how far your nice little retirement home (that I am jealous of) is from a pool. I have only had to do PT on a dislocated elbow. I stressed mine a little too early and it hurt worse than the original injury, but after a couple more months it was stronger than my opposite usually dominant arm. Hopefully that is the case with yours.

The fact that you made it through the first day of the shoot and part of the second day at 11 weeks actually sounds like a pretty good report.

Ankles are tough. Even pro athletes in their 20s can miss months with just a sprain.

The truck tow sounds like a pain but it could be worse. I just had someone rear-end me at 50+ mph, no skid marks. Knocked my car 50 yards down the road. She was talking on her cell phone and "never saw" my red vehicle stopped in her lane. I'm fine but my vehicle left on a tow truck and won't be coming back.

First day back in the gym this AM. Lots of stretching, no weights, 30 mins on the treadmill and 15 mins on the elliptical stairmaster. Surprised me that I did so well after 6 months of doing nothing. Back tomorrow am. Lots of stretching and range of motion excersizes on the new ankle. See what it feels like in the am.

Been 2 weeks of going to the gym 4 days a week and I am really pleased with the new ankle. Starting to feel like I am getting back a lot. No swelling or pain in the ankle, being sore from the workouts.

This fall is going to be good!!
