I might put the Gerber Vital above the Outdoor Edge. Lighter, super easy to change blades, razor sharp (same standard blade as Havalon) and this year you can buy a gut hook blade (on backorder for me at Langcaster). Outdoor Edge has a stouter blade, which can be beneficial if you break them and little easier for skinning. Also easy to change blades as well. Outdoor Edge design makes it a little harder to clean and for ounce counters, little heavier and bulkier. I don't use Havalon's any more. Simply too hard and dangerous to change the blade in the field when tired, clumsy, with cold bloody hands in the dark. In my opinion Gerber solved all the shortcomings of the Havalon.
