I got this from Eastmans Forum but can't remember who posted it.

Awesome service and what I think is a great price. Communication. Was perfect via email. I rented the Swaro HD spotter with a small back pack tripod ( didn't want to mess with mine or adapter so I just got the one that he offers)
It arrives via Fed Ex in military grade padded box that is bubble wrapped inside a cardboard box. Return Fed Ex slip already printed and ready to go in the box.

I rented it because I wanted to compare it to a Maven. I think for the price it's a great service for someone who doesn't want to buy a Euro spotter for maybe a once in a lifetime hunt.

Those do seem like some decent prices. Like you said, it is a great option for those going on a once in a lifetime hunt with a budget in mind and not wanting to compromise on optic quality.

Ok......so just my opinion.......and it's hard to have this discussion with out talking price point.....so I'm gonna leave that out. In addition I'm an elk hunter first, deer / antelope second ....my year is planned around archery/muzzle elk and 4th rifle elk every year. Mule deer tag is just a bonus but not my priority. I think it's key to know that as it highlights my mindset.

If I was a mule deer freak of a guy I'd drop the cash on a Swaro...no doubt about it. I was able to find deer last week by seeing a horn sticking out from behind a tree in low light conditions.

Being that my priority is elk every year ......the Maven was good enough for that. I think the Maven and Vortex are very close....so I believe then if you go by price point the Vortex wins. Feel free to ask any questions.

Gotcha. I was more curious about in depth comparisons like reading text at long distances, edge distortion, last light performance, eye relief/cups, FOV, performance at high magnification, etc.. I figured the maven being 85mm versus 65 for the swaro would make for some differences as well since one is full size and the other a mid size.

Sure .....if you wanna get crazy technical.
I had the same light at the same angle for all tests.
Used a straight line inch block target.
Edge and text Swaro won hands down.
Last light Swaro by far.
Eye relief no noticeable difference or issues.
FOV was expected for a 65 vs 85.

In the end.....I'm a regular blue collar guy......Maven vs Vortex is too close to call. Swaro is in another class......but unless glassing for 5 to 8 hours a day......I don't think needed.
