I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this area or ever been in there? It's not very big of an area between Idaho and the wilderness. Is there a good number of Deer in there? Thanks for any help!

H is about as well known for deer as G. Good numbers of deer..yes..But you will also be seeing ALOT of other hunters. And most of them are very hard core hunters who will get just as far back as you can imagine. You can have a good hunt in there, but expect to see a lot of other hunters especially if you go for the beginning of rifle.

Also for that specific area, the sliver of it that isnt wilderness might be easier accessed coming from the Idaho side, you would also maybe want to consider buying an OTC Idaho tag if you go when both states seasons are open. It would suck to see a big buck on that side of the border and not have the option to pull the trigger!
Thanks mtngiude, that would be a good idea. Yeah that sliver in 149 isn't very big before you hit the wilderness.
