This summer has been cool and wet with some snow up hi already. I would plan on anything from upper 20's to mid 70's depending on the elevation you are hunting. It is all about layering up my friend.

I would bet money that you won't see 95 degrees in Region G while you're there. As mentioned, plan on anything as far as the clothes and boots you take while you're hunting. Also, make sure you have a camp setup so you can stay warm and dry at night or you'll have a miserable time of it if you can't get a good nights sleep.

I was scouting last week just south of Alpine and it never got above 47 degrees. It has been raining a lot of there (lots of green grass) saw a lot of deer a couple decent bucks up real high above 10,000 ft. I love that country. Saw a small bull moose also. Good Luck on your hunt!

On a hunt during opening week a couple tears ago (in H, but only a few miles away), I was chased off the mountain by a hailstorm, forted up in the tent for 17 hours during a cold downpour, and yet still had to head down as soon as the deer was tagged because it was 65 degrees. I quit wearing my big parka while deer hunting in Minnesota in November. Layers work far better, even in the extreme cold.

Like everyone said, layer up. I lived in that part of Wyoming for a number of years and hunted G alot. I can remember opening days hunting in a tee shirt and looking for shade and I can also recall bailing off the mountain during a snowstorm another year. All you can do is get the forecast when your going and hope for the best but prepare for the worst. AND, good luck! Beautiful country with the potential for a dandy.

I just got back from a Region G bow hunt near Alpine. I had a chance at a great buck but hit him high. It was the best hunt of my life in some pretty country.
