I drew my Region E general deer tag, looking forward to my first trip to Wyoming this coming fall. I?m a 24yr old Michigan DIY hunter, looking for some western experience. I?ve became very passionate about black bear guiding over the years, but our deer herd has taken a turn for the worst with the crazy high wolf numbers. So looking to spend more of my time out west chasing deer. Love reading all your guys threads on this Forum, it has really helped a ton. Still not for sure on which Unit to start my hunt. I?ve spemt most my time researching Units 96, 97, & 98. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even a unit or area to stay away from would really help me out a lot! Thanks for any info.

Work there some, and hunted other species there so don't know a ton. I'd focus on the NE side of 98, and from what I've seen most anywhere in 96, and 97. Anything that's a bit broken, rugged, or tough to get into likely will hold some kind of deer. I'd aim to get at a minimum of a mile from the road.
