Made some red chili using some shoulder from the cow elk I got last winter. Some of you guys might think it's strange to use potatoes but my wife and I like them in our chili.0625151318-00.jpg0625151349-00.jpg0625151359-00.jpg0625151607-00.jpg0625151637-00.jpg

Would you share the rest of your secret ingredients, we wont tell anyone;)
I guess it is a hybrid stew/chili like Alabama mentioned.

I don't use a recipe so I'll give approx amounts.
I usually have lots of shpoulder cuts so that's what I use.
2-3 lbs of any game meat
1 large onion
2 cloves of garlic
2-10oz cans of red chili sce or red enchilada sce-I prefer spicy
chlli powder-make it as spicy as you like
1 bottle of beer
salt & pepper to taste
cubed potatoes
2-3 cans pinto beans-drained-I like a pretty even ratio of meat to beans and potatoes

Brown meat and onions together till well browned then add garlic-brown about 5 more minutes
Add red chili sauce and beer and enough water to cover-then simmer 2-3 hours till meat is tender-taste for salt
Add potatoes and simmer till they are tender

put beans in last so they don't turn to mush simmering with meat-add some water if it's too dry
