If I want to build points for WY elk(or any species for that matter) all I have to do is wait and buy a point?? I do not need to apply for a tag before January 31st...am I correct? I think I am understanding this correctly. WY just seems more complicated for some reason.

Correct. In past years you could buy points July - Sept. Still the same as far as I know. Oregon just went to a similar buy points deal after the draw program too.

Yup, Tim is right. Wyo. sells the points from July-Sept.

Good to know. That's what I thought. Makes it easier to front the point money instead of total tag price.

Not only does it make it easier to front up the point money, the window for purchasing the points runs thru Sept. 30th.
