Any general advice for the plains season? I am trying to plan a cow hunt for my boys(10 & 12 can't draw a tag here in AZ). I was looking on the interactive map in unit 105 but it seems to be private land primarily. Never hunted in CO. hoping to make it out July/August to scout and hunt in Sept. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Jake

105 doesn't have much public land as you stated. Finding someone that will let you hunt on their property will be tough because the unit is close to Denver and Colorado springs. That area isn't known for large elk numbers. Also I read one of your boys is 10 and you have to be 12 to hunt in Colorado.
I spoke with a Game and Fish official and asked that question, he stated if he has taken hunter safety here in AZ he could purchase a tag. Thank you for the heads up, I will try to find something in the regs.
Thanks again for the heads up, I was misnformed in my conversation with Game and Fish...you are absolutely right on the age requirement. Now I have to explain to my boy not only did he not get drawn here but now he's not old enough to hunt in CO. Bummer!
