Yes. I have been using one on my Pro Hunter for a couple of years. It is great, I love it.

The only reason I mentioned Red Dots is that I use one on each of my competition Bulls Eye pistols. They are even better!
I was wandering if they were any count I dont know if we will ever come out for muzzle loading in CO but would love to go back to NM muzzle loading we had a great hunt there

that fancy gun setup there is really stretching about every aspect of hunting "primitive" as per Colorado and Oregon muzzleloader rule intentions..thats fine if its legal in your state.but that's not what I would call a muzzleloader...."looks fancier than any gun "rifle" that I own.to each there own.

this year I drew the Utah gen muzz deer hunt,,,ya know what im gonna use?my lyman great plains perc cap sidelock hexagon barrel, loose powder, lead conical, just like I hunt in Oregon,,,and yes I can reach out 250 yrds if I put enough lift on it,,but I think ill just stalk closer and take a 100 yrd shot that a skilled muzzleloader hunter should take.sorry but that is my opinion.

IMO......we should support all legal forms of hunting.....if its legal its legal......if its not its not. Lots of states its legal to shoot a scoped, pelleted, sabot muzzleloader. What you choose to shoot should be left up to the hunter as long as its within the rules. That's the fundamental problem we need to work through here in America. Longbow hunters not supporting compound bow hunters, old school muzzleloader hunters not supporting new school muzzleloaders hunters. We as HUNTERS should support ALL legal forms of hunting and not create more fracturing within the ranks.

All decisions on rules should be data based vice off emotion. Here in Colorado emotion drove the "no illuminated knocks" decision even though they didn't "accurize" any aspect of shooting and only provided more real time analysis on shot placement and helped out 300 fold on game recovery.

Just guessing but if our fellow hunter uses a "Kestrel" chances are he is a highly qualified and educated shooter who makes quick kills and ethical decisions. Kudos to anyone who shoots old school weapons and kudos to the younger generation who just wants to shoot.

I have no issue with that, everyone has a style. My gun does shoot more like a rifle ballistic-wise but it is completely legal in Utah. I shoot long range and it is one of my passions. With that said, I do not only long range hunt. I also have a CVA wolf (my mountain gun), hunt archery (just took a general bull yesterday), and hunted for years with shotgun slugs in the east. Sometimes
I like getting in close and other times I like being able to make precision first round hits at long range. Both are challenging to me. I like how some states have a separate traditional and modern inline season.

I have more of an issue with people throwing a scope on a standard muzzleloader and attempting to shoot at a distance that lacks energy as if they have a rifle. Which will happen this year with the new scope rule. I was originally building the muzzleloader with a adjustable peep sight to be Utah legal (similar to a buffalo gun peep).

Good luck on your hunt. What unit did you draw?

The gun is an extreme on the spectrum of Muzzle loading but it is only load from the muzzle and only can fire one shoot which still makes it challenging when you are

Good luck. I am hunting in Southern Utah (general pine valley this year). Spotted some decent bucks before I started focusing on the general archery bull season here and took one the second day of the season so back to scouting for deer. September 28 will be here soon.
