I would like to take this opportunity to thank the OP for taking down the initial post after further explanations of why we felt it was inappropriate. I see a first time poster (Welcome to the site DEERSLAM) has come on the thread and also asked that it be deleted because he actually has a tag for this unit. I think that speaks volumes as to what we were trying to get across and I hope DEERSLAM kills a Booner. Now back to the show, LOL!!!

TG,
Thank you for taking the time to cirlce back around to make this respectable closing post.
As you said, "back to the show" :)

I'll pm you a few more tidbits later on a different (funnier) subject matter. :)

I don't want to get into an argument over this. Here are my thoughts.

Post a thread titled very specifically for the area you are offering info for (just like you have done). Then just post something like "We had a very successful hunt in this unit in 2013. I am willing to share very detailed information with one hunter per year. Please feel free to send me a PM after you have drawn the tag." Maybe even post a pic of the bull.

I have given very specific info to one guy each year for several areas I have hunted. I spend many hours on the phone each year helping guys out on hunts I will never draw again. Often when talking to them I learn they have hunted a unit I am trying to draw, and mutual hunting connection has begun.

I think this approach accomplishes what you are hoping to do in this thread without making it open to everyone who surfs this site. I believe there are many many times more views of this site by non-members than there are by members. Most of those aren't here to give info, only to take.

I will say this is by far the most detailed info I have ever seen on an open public forum, that is the only reason I have asked for it to be modified.
I agree with you UH. I don't mind helping guys from time to time, PM's are the way to go to get things rolling. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with guys I've never met face to face. Some I still keep contact with well after the hunt is over.

Thanks a lot Topgun 30-06!!
No; thank you for coming on and making our point for us! I hope you have a great hunt and kill a really nice bull. I went on a OIL Shiras hunt that my buddy in Sheridan,WY drew for the unit just south of Pocatello, ID in 2007 and it was a neat adventure. He took one that was 38" and a perfect 7 points on each side. If we had horses or mules to pack one out he could have shot several bigger ones, but we had to limit how far we were from the truck to make sure we could get everything out because they are one big mother!
