Packers wanted, Greys river area.

Just something you need to be aware of. Whoever you find and use, make sure they are Licensed by state and permitted through the Forest Service. Number of scabs that "work" that area. Law reads that if you use an unlicensed/nonpermitted operator you too can be held liable with a criminal citation. Not something you want to risk.

Forest service is usually pretty unhelpful when it comes to that type of thing...They will just tell you to look up the outfitters in the area...they might go as far as telling you the outfitters in the area..Basically stuff you can do on your own. Call outfitters, ask if they will do game retrieval. Most in that area wont because they are plenty busy with their own clients and stuff, and dont have the man power to do that. But there are a few down there im sure that didnt book enough clients and would have the ability to do it. Just gotta get on the phone and make some calls...gonna be hard to get them on the phone with seasons starting up and camps being set up etc...Search for alpine/afton/thane/star valley located outfitters...and start dialing #'s is gonna be your best bet to do it legally.

We've talked to Greys River Outfitters about packing out and they said they would. They are 40 miles up the river, or to the south. But we never have used them. Dale Clark has horses on the Smith Fork south of the Greys on Forest Road 10072 and we've used him several times. Not sure if Dale can go into the Grey's though.

We have hunted that area a few times and rented horses so that may be a option. You can find people who provide that service on the net.
